See that? Those letters? You are probably wondering what they mean and what kind of person puts those after their name….

I’m Paul. I am the founder of Compass Recovery & Counseling, LLC. I am a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. I have a master’s degree in addiction counseling and I am also a Dept. of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional. I have spent over 30 years helping those with addiction and co-occurring disorders who are struggling with their recovery. I’ve built a career at helping high-risk clients with unique problems - either through their involvement in the criminal justice system or their recovery via high-impact work. To say I have had a colorful life and career would be putting it mildly. I have worked in the federal judiciary, prisons (city, state and federal), non-profit agencies and hospital-based environments. I have served in the U.S. Military (U.S. Naval Reserve) and I have taught, and continue to teach in colleges training the next generation of addiction counselors.

What does that mean for you, the client who is considering my services? It means I offer a breadth of experience and knowledge. Whether you are struggling with alcohol and substances, have been arrested, struggling at work or at home and need an evaluation or treatment, are court-mandated to to attend treatment or perhaps looking to talk to someone about your relationship with drugs and alcohol, I am ready to help. You are not alone and I will work with you to identify and change the thought and behavior patterns that are keeping you from feeling your best and becoming your authentic self. I specialize in connecting with clients on a personal level, meeting them where they are at and guiding clients to identifying the triggers and issues which are impacting them. I will connect you with the resources you need in the community in order to support your journey.

I founded Compass Recovery & Counseling because I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are at and embarking on this recovery together. Call or email me and let’s get to work!
